Joga Bonito is one of football's most revolutionary styles of play. The term reflects Brazilians’ (and many football fans worldwide) joy and passion for the sport. The book tells the history and culture of Brazilian football's style, then briefly discusses how it has spread to various countries and how the world has a phrase to do football justice. The Beautiful Game emphasizes beauty, style, and individual accomplishment.

Interior: Grout Gray Paper (Construction, Text Weight) 70lb
Exposed Spine & Hand Sewn
[9”x12”]

Interior Spreads
Handmade book with stitching from a green goalie net and a hardboard cover.

A yellow ball moves throughout as a visual thread, guiding the reader and highlighting moments of emotion, movement, and joy. Page margins follow the geometry of a soccer field, turning the layout into a space where content is “in play” and never out of bounds.

Images are exaggerated to emphasize the emotion and playful movement.

Poster Series
Two posters target different contexts: one for the street, where Joga originates, and one for the World Cup’s global stage. Together, they reflect the game’s dual identity, raw and organic versus polished and worldwide.

Environmental Setting

JOGA “PASSION & JOY” filter
A filter to show team pride for the World Cup, using circles and squares to create a soccer ball-inspired texture. It visually overlays identity and energy, turning support into a dynamic graphic expression.
